Funeral services for Helen Mabel Marjerus, 101, of Albert Lea, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Niethammer will officiate. Helen died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Oak Park Place in Albert Lea.

Helen Mabel Marjerus was born on Dec. 27, 1910, in Freeborn county the daughter of Ole and Jurgena (Jorgenson) Ingvaldson. She attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School and then completed beauty training in Fargo, N.D., and the Chicago Hair Dressing Academy. She had a salon in Mazeppa for a short time and then owned and operated her business in Rochester. On Feb. 20, 1947, Helen was united in marriage to Martin Majerus. After Martin’s death she moved back to Albert Lea where she made her home at Oak Park Place.

Helen is survived by her sister, Marvel Olson of Albert Lea and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; one sister; and a niece and nephew.
