Immigration is of grave concern to a great number of residents in our area. However, our Congress has done so little on this issue that they might as well have stayed home. To reverse this voting pattern the following must be done:

1. Reduce chain migration. Chain migration allows entire extended families to enter — aunts, uncles, cousins; entire villages have literally emptied out and come here via this method. It’s outrageous — this is “colonization,” not “immigration.”

2. Reduce visa lottery. Also called the “diversity visa lottery,” it brings in 50,000 per year via random selection from all over the world. Thousands from terror-watch list countries have entered the U.S. this way.

3. Reduce unnecessary worker visas. With 20 million Americans who can’t find a full-time job, why are we importing foreign labor? Why did Hormel import untold numbers of Burmese recently? And why are we outsourcing like crazy?

4. Reduce anchor baby citizenship. It’s estimated more than 300,000 babies are born here each year with neither parent a citizen or even legally here. It’s a racket.

5. Reduce refugee and asylum fraud. This is a very loose operation — as well, the former director of the U.S. Committee for Refugees, Roger Winder, estimated that a day’s worth of the funding needed to settle a single refugee in the U.S. would cover the needs of 500 refugees abroad.

I could go on. Please, we need congressmen who will help and protect us.
