Teen hunter dies when boat capsizes in Minn. lake

ELYSIAN — Authorities in Waseca County said a high school senior who went duck hunting with four friends has died after their boat capsized.

The five were boating on Lake Elysian on Saturday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call about 6 a.m. reporting people in the water. Authorities said four people made it to shore, and two were treated at a hospital and released.

But Brady Hruska’s body wasn’t recovered for another eight hours.

Hruska was a senior at Waterville-Elysian-Morristown High School. He was also a wide receiver on the football team.

The other players debated whether to go forward with their playoff game on Friday. Principal John Kaplan said they decided Hruska would want them to play, and did so in his honor.
