3 injured in crash

Three people from Illinois were injured Thursday morning after a vehicle went off the road and rolled into the ditch on Interstate 35 in Albert Lea.

Evette Heard, 41, of Galesburg, Ill., and her two daughters, Doanna Heard, 15, and Decsia Heard, 10, were transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Their injuries were not life-threatening.

The State Patrol report states Evette Heard was driving south on I-35 in a 2007 Buick four-door sedan near milepost 10 at about 6 a.m., when she drifted off the roadway onto the left shoulder, overcorrected and then left the road and rolled into the right ditch.

Milepost 10 is a mile south of Trail’s Travel Center.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
