Minnesota, Wisconsin skate to 2-2 tie

MINNEAPOLIS — Michael Mensch had two goals to help Wisconsin earn a 2-2 tie with Minnesota on Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Mensch’s sixth goal of the season came at 5:06 of the second period. It came less than five minutes after Erik Haula had given Minnesota (6-2-2, 3-2-2) a 2-1 lead.

Zach Budish gave the Gophers a 1-0 lead early in the first period. But Mensch netted the first of his two goals 26 seconds later.

Wisconsin (1-4-2, 1-2-2) goalie Landon Peterson made 12 saves in third period and finished with 40. He had one in overtime.

Minnesota goalie Adam Wilcox stopped 23 shots, including one in the overtime period. He faced only six shots in the third.
