ST. PAUL (AP) — While officials in New Jersey and New York are trying to overcome voting roadblocks put up by Superstorm Sandy in time for Election Day, Minnesota is also working to make sure all state voters have their say.

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says his office has been tracking absentee ballots from military and other overseas voters that were delayed at JFK in New York after the storm closed the airport.

And as volunteers and emergency teams from Minnesota prepared to head to the East Coast, Ritchie’s office contacted the participating agencies to make sure their members voted absentee before they left for their assignments.

Ritchie said because some relief workers left with very little notice when the storm hit, his office has been trying to coordinate absentee voting from their assignment location.
