To all the hard workers.

City of Albert Lea and Freeborn County snow removers deserve a tip of the hat for all the snow they’ve cleared these past few days. Not only did it snow, but then high winds meant these workers did several passes on all the road to make sure they were driveable. And let us not forget all the towing company workers and local law enforcement who helped those during the snowstorm.

To all those helping angels.

This is the time of year when those special angels come out to pay it forward. Make sure to wish a happy holiday to those you see out shoveling a neighbor’s walk, bringing gifts and treats or just showing their holiday spirit to everyone they meet. If everyone paid a good deed forward this will be a wonderful holiday season indeed.

To the world not ending.

OK, we didn’t really think the world was going to end, right? Either way it’s a good thing that the Mayan calendar wasn’t right and people can go about their daily lives. Hopefully everyone will just remember this like the Y2K scare. And with Christmas and New Year’s around the corner, now is the time to go hug your family members and to make memories.
