Dr. Kamiab Delfanian, an Urgent Care physician at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, was recently honored as Vascular Birthmark Foundation’s Physician of the Year for his volunteer service as a clinical consultant to the foundation and care of patients affected by vascular anomalies in the United States and abroad. He received this award at the foundation’s annual conference in New York City.

Delfanian completed vascular fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and a pediatric fellowship in vascular anomalies at Arkansas Children’s Hospital Vascular Anomalies Center in Little Rock, Ark. He subsequently trained in international health with a focus on pediatric disease at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on vascular birthmarks and anomalies.
