Timberwolves: Brandon Roy’s comeback delayed

The return of Minnesota Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy appears to be on hold.
Roy, who has been sidelined since early November because of knee surgery, worked out hard Thursday, but skipped Wolves’ practice Friday for personal reasons.
Adelman said he did not believe Roy, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on Nov. 19, had any physical setback that might have caused him to miss practice Friday.
“All I know is ‘personal reasons,’” Adelman said.
Everyone else worked out Friday at the team’s Lifetime Fitness practice facility, including Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love.
Adelman said Rubio, who underwent offseason reconstructive knee surgery, is capable of playing about 24 minutes against the Suns, an increase of about three minutes from Wednesday’s 87-84 loss to Houston.
Love, who was just 3 for 14 from the field Wednesday after missing a game because he was poked in the eye, continued to work on his shooting Friday. Adelman says he expects Love to find the range as his confidence builds.
Love has made just 14 of 44 shots in his past three games and was 0 for 7 from three-point range against the Rockets.
“He’s not shooting the ball like he was last year,” Adelman said. “It’s just something he’s going to have to work through and play through.”
