Delila Tesch, 93, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Delila V. Tesch of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Delila died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Society. She was 93 years of age.
Delila was born May 2, 1919, the daughter of Fred and Elsa (Kluender) Schumaker in Dunbar Township in Faribault County. She attended country school in Faribault County. On Sept. 2, 1942, she was united in marriage to Elmer H. Tesch. They farmed by Minnesota Lake, Kiester and Clarks Grove. Delila worked at E.F. Stamper in Wells and at various restaurants in Albert Lea and also did housekeeping in different motels.
Delila moved to Albert Lea in 1970. She enjoyed playing the organ in her teens at church and also playing the piano by ear. She particularly enjoyed old time music and religious songs and loved to dance. She loved to clean and was a very good housekeeper. She enjoyed reading the paper and magazines and liked to play cards.
Survivors include her children, Delmar Schnoor, Mary Woodford and Athelene (Kenneth) Gerber all of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Clinton (Karen) Woodford, Albert Lea, Michael (Malissa) Schnoor, Richmond, Texas, and Michelle (James) Stubkjaer, Sioux Falls, S.D.; step-grandchildren, Donna (Randy) Saltou, Glenville, Diane (Jeff) Schmidt and Danny (Cheryl) Farris of Garner, Iowa; great-grandchildren, James Schnoor, Independence, Kan., Veronica and Jazzten Schnoor of Richmond, Emma, Isabella, Sophie and Jakob Stubkjaer of Sioux Falls, S.D.; step-great-grandchildren, Justin Schmidt, Amber (Chad) Vittorio, Roger and Reina Saltou, Cody Farris and three great-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild; one sister Betty Gabrielson of Austin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Delila was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Elsa Schumaker, husband Elmer, daughter-in-law Marilyn Schnoor, sister Evangeline (Jesse) Jacobsen and sisters-in-law Esther (John) Schwarz and Lillian (Frank) Putz.
