Freeborn County residents who are looking to own a home can now apply for the home ownership program through Habitat for Humanity-Freeborn/Mower at www.habitatfreebornmower.org.
The nonprofit organization will accept applications now until Jan. 20.
Habitat for Humanity works to provide low-cost, no-interest homes to families and has volunteers who work on home projects each year. The Freeborn/Mower affiliate has built more than 30 homes for local families.
Applicants must show a need for better housing, ability to pay for mortgage and escrow payments and be willing to put in work at the home.
