Janet Ewing, 83, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Janet Ewing will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the St. John’s Lutheran Home Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Interment will be at a later date. Janet died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Janet Pearl Ewing was born Feb. 9, 1929, to Perle and Dikka (Hovland) Floyd in Albert Lea. Janet grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1947. She worked as a bookkeeper for Albert Lea Country Club, a teller for the London Bank and later US Bank and also as a tax preparer at H & R Block. On Oct. 22, 1950, Janet was united in marriage to Raymond E. Ewing in Albert Lea. In her retirement Janet enjoyed spending winters in Rockport, Texas, and playing golf.
Survivors include her husband, Ray; sons, Gary (Cynthia) Ewing and David (Sarah) Ewing; daughter Caryl (Lee Alaspa) Ewing; sister, Lois Bogenschutz and twin sister Joann Modderman.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Warren.
Janet’s family would like to give a special thank you to St. John’s Lutheran Home for all of the wonderful care they gave to Janet.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. John’s Chapel or St John’s Sheltering Arms.
