Margaret Branden, 94, Austin

Margaret M. Branden, age 94, of Austin, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Adams Healthcare Center, Adams. She was born Oct. 5, 1918, to Raymond and Minnie (Iverson) Belden in Brownsdale. On March 9, 1947, Margaret married Henry Branden in Adams. Henry passed away on Feb. 28, 1997. To this union two children were born. Margaret was a homemaker for many years and was a lifelong Austin resident. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her family. Margaret loved to spend time outdoors and feeding all of the wildlife in her back yard.
Survivors include her two sons: Terry (Gloria) Branden of Albert Lea and Tom (Sandy) Branden of Austin; special friend, Julie Diederich of Austin, five grandchildren: Brian Bellin, Chris Branden, Heather Dather, Melissa Retterath and Amy Westland; nine great-grandchildren; one stepson, Dennis (Marie) Branden of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Ervin, one great-granddaughter, Amanda, one sister, Lucille and one brother, Arnold.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
