MINNETRISTA — A Minnetrista family is among those in Minnesota caught up in Russia’s new law banning Americans from adopting Russian children.

John and Renee Thomas have been working to adopt the younger biological brother of their son Jack. Four-year-old Nikoly remains in a Russian orphanage. John Thomas said “a lot of this is just politics” and they’re “stuck in the middle.”

Sen. Amy Klobuchar met with adoptive families Sunday and promised to take their stories and photos to the Senate floor.
