Patricia Lynn Eggers, 57, of Owatonna, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, from complications of diabetes.

Patricia Eggers

Patty was born March 21, 1955, in Owatonna, the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Dinse) Eggers. Patty was baptized shortly after birth at the hospital and again at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Patty graduated from Owatonna High School in 1972.

Patty’s diabetes was diagnosed in 1982. She lived at home with her loving parents until 1994 and at that time moved into the REM home in Owatonna. Patty was a very special person loving life to the fullest. Her love of her family both biological and her REM family was seen in so many ways. She showed all her loved ones what it was like to love unconditionally and how to enjoy the simple things in life! She loved to go for rides or to places like McDonalds and always enjoyed all family gatherings like her nieces and nephews weddings and the dances. Patty loved to tease and laugh. She complained little although she had so many health problems. Patty retired in 2007 after working 30 years for Cedar Valley Services in Owatonna. She will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her mother, Alice Eggers, of Owatonna; brother, Clarence (and LaVonne) Eggers of Albert Lea; sisters, Beverly (and Marvin) Meixner of Owatonna, Margie (and Lyle) DeBower of Decorah, Iowa, Dolores (and Vern) Sundem of Minneapolis, Eleanor (and Ralph) Wangen of Albert Lea, Phyllis (and William) Stransky of Cleveland; nine nieces; eight nephews; grandnieces; and cousins, friends and REM family.

She was preceded in death by father, Clarence Eggers; nephew, Kenneth Grimstad; and infant great-nephew.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and at St. John Lutheran Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 1 at St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Owatonna Hospice and St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna.
