Target worker catches 2 suspects
AUSTIN — A Target loss prevention employee caught two suspected thieves Sunday who may have stolen from the store at least three times.
According to the Mower County District Court complaint, the employee called police, and officers arrived and blocked the vehicle in which the two suspects were loading with retail items at about 6:30 p.m. The employee showed police video surveillance of the two Austin suspects, Yoanna Hernandez-Vera, 20, and Andres Vazquez-Garcia, 25, and tallied the stolen items at $1,070.
Both suspects admitted to stealing from the store, according to the court complaint, and Hernandez-Vera admitted to stealing from Target on Dec. 1 and 16, too. Both were charged Tuesday with felony theft. Their next court appearance is Jan. 17.
