There are two opportunities for the public to join a community choir this spring. The first is to be a part of the Good Friday services at First Lutheran Church. The Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. March 29. The choir, accompanied by a small orchestra, will be presenting “Reflections on the Cross.” This work will feature several pieces that goes through the Lenten season culminating with Christ’s death on the cross. Rehearsals will began on Feb. 13 and singers are invited to join any time after 7:45 p.m., as they are able.
The second opportunity is to be a part of the annual spring SEMNCO concert. This year’s concert, “Look to the Day,” will feature traditional choral music, including pieces by John Rutter and Mack Wilberg. The orchestra and chorus will be joined by Paul and Kristin Johnson. They can be remembered from last year’s February SEMNCO classical concert. Rehearsals for the spring concert also began at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 13 and singers are welcome as they are able. It is not a requirement for singers to attend every rehearsal. The concert will be at 7 p.m. April 21 at First Lutheran Church.
