Honore McNamee, 87, Fort Pierce, Fla.

Honore June Blandford McNamee, 87, of Fort Pierce, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Treasure Coast Hospice. She was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Hammond, Ind., a daughter of the late Harvey Blandford and Ruth Waller Blandford Trimble and Arnold Trimble. She graduated from Hammond High School, attended Purdue University and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She also attended Katherine Gibbs College in Chicago.
On Feb. 16, 1947, she married Gerald Goodyear McNamee, a high school classmate. Together they lived in Battle Creek, Mich., Sioux City, Iowa, La Crosse, Wis., Minneapolis, Huron, S.D., Fort Dodge, Iowa, Albert Lea and retired to Fort Pierce in 1980. Besides being a wonderful wife, mother and doting grandmother, Honore loved gardening and volunteering in the community, especially her 11 years at the Manatee Center. Honore was a member of Indian River Presbyterian Church, Fort Pierce.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gerald McNamee; daughter, Marcia Bea Black of Two Rivers, Wis.; son, Gerry Michael McNamee of Eagan; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at Yates Funeral Home and Crematory, Fort Pierce. The Rev. Brian Wenger will officiate.
