Judith Ann Reid passed away in a motor vehicle accident near Fargo on Feb. 18, 2013. The lives of Judy and her beloved partner, Sean Ray, were both claimed on the way to the funeral of his father, Timothy Ray. She was 48 years old and lived in Minnetonka.
Judy was born on Feb. 23, 1964, to John and Jane Reid in Albert Lea. Her schooling was at Hawthorne Elementary School and Albert Lea High School, graduating in 1982. She graduated from Riverland Community College with a degree as a medical secretary. Through her schooling years, she worked at Good Samaritan Society and fulltime upon graduation. Judy was previously married to Robert Jackson. She later moved to Minneapolis where she was employed at Regis, Ebenezer Caroline Center, Uptown Vision Clinic, Ameriprise and currently at Medica in Minnetonka, as a customer service representative.
During her early years, the family spent summer vacations enjoying camping trips, so Judy developed a love for camping and fishing. When in a boat with Judy, one could get a good lesson on how to catch walleyes. She was the youngest fisherman and always caught the most fish. Judy enjoyed many summer fishing trips. Her 30th class reunion this past summer was a wonderful time to be with classmates and friends.
While living next to the Carlson Towers in an apartment, she had her own flower and garden area on her third floor balcony. All her plantings were in classy pots that were her collection hobby. Both Sean and Judy liked going to estate sales and spending weekends in Albert Lea to help her mother with home upkeep projects.
Judy is survived by her mother, Jane Reid, Albert Lea; sister Jean (Dr. Mark) Sabre, Eden Prairie; sister-in-law Monica Reid; niece Lillian; nephew, Jacob; uncle Kenneth Jensen, Hutchinson; aunt, Luelle Fenske, Fridley; many cousins and special friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Reid, and father, John Reid.
The lives of Judy Reid and Sean Ray will be celebrated in a memorial service scheduled for noon on Saturday at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. in south Minneapolis. Reception following at Lakewood Reception Center.
You can’t control the length of your life
but you can control its width and depth.
You can’t control the contour of your face
but you can control its expression.
You can’t control the weather
but you can control the atmosphere of your mind.
Why worry about things you can’t control when you
can keep yourself busy controlling the things that depend on you.
