Lucille Goodnature, 91, Hinckley

Lucille “Lucy” (Lee) Goodnature, 91, died Feb. 1, 2013, at the Elderwood Assisted Living Facility in Hinckley.

Lucille Marie Lee was born at home on Dec. 30, 1921, in Moscow Township, Freeborn County, to Peter and Ella Lee. Lucille graduated from Albert Lea High School. She married Lester Goodnature on Aug. 20, 1952, at St. Marys Catholic Church, Newry Township, Freeborn County.

They made their home in Geneva where she worked as a teller at the Geneva State Bank until retirement, whereupon Lucille and Lester relocated to Mesa, Ariz. After Lester’s death in 2006, Lucille returned to Minnesota to be closer to family.

Lucille enjoyed the many summers she spent at the Oak Lake Campground in Kerrick and found great joy in her many hobbies, which included golf and bowling. She loved her grandchildren and cherished her time spent with them.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; sister, Lorraine Scott; brothers, Clayton and Leslie Pickering and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Barry (Carol) Goodnature, of Sturgeon Lake; grandchildren, Melissa (Stephen) Jorgensen of Askov, Chris Thompson of Sandstone and Seth (Nikki Haglund) Goodnature of Sturgeon Lake; great-grandchildren, Ayla Snydle, Scott Thompson, Laiken Jorgensen, Levi Jorgensen, Levi Jorgensen, Lacy Jorgensen, Coltin Thompson and Audrianna Thompson; brother, Bryant (Linda) Pickering of Puma Valley, Calif.; as well as many extended family members and friends. Lucille was very touched by the love and special attention given to her by her nephews, Ron and Mike Scott, niece, Cindy Schmidt and brother, Bryant Pickering.

The Cremation Society of Minnesota is handling arrangements. A memorial service for Lucille will be delayed until 1 p.m. May 4 at the Community Church in Geneva. Please send any memorials to: Geneva Fire Dept., P.O. Box 26, Geneva, MN, 56035.
