2 houses broken into
A house at 14941 S. U.S. Highway 69 was reported broken into at 5:03 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.
A door at 258 S. Pearl St. was reported smashed in at 10:17 p.m. Saturday, according to police. An Xbox and games were reportedly taken, according to Albert Lea police.
2 Iowans arrested for shoplifting
Albert Lea police arrested two Iowa women Tuesday evening after they reportedly attempted to steal a 32-inch flatscreen TV from Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.
The incident reportedly took place at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday.
Police arrested Randi Mae Axelsen, 23, of Swaledale, Iowa, for shoplifting and trespassing and Abbigail Lynn Duryee, 19, of Marble Rock, Iowa, for aiding and abetting shoplifting.
Reports stated store security personnel stopped Duryee in the store, but Axelsen fled and was found near the strip mall across from the parking lot with Subway and Snap Fitness.
The TV set was valued at $266.
Vehicle reported stolen, found
EMMONS — A vehicle was reported stolen from 13383 690th Ave., Emmons, sometime between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. It was later located in Hancock County, Iowa.
Resident reports scam
A person reported losing $4,000 in a phone scam Tuesday where the caller stated the person’s grandchild was in jail and needed money.
Heaters reported stolen
OAKLAND — Four heaters were reported stolen from Northern Country Co-op, 89096 Oakland Ave. in Oakland, at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.
Tires reported slashed
Tires were reported slashed on a car at 1415 Frank Ave. at 3:03 a.m. today, according to police.
Man arrested for theft
Albert Lea police arrested Terrance Edwards, 28, for theft of services after he reportedly would not pay all of his bill for a cab Tuesday night. According to reports, Edwards would only pay $3 instead of the $8 owed, after being taken from the Nasty Habit to Harold’s Bar.
Wallet reported stolen
A wallet was reported stolen from the 112 on Broadway bar at 1:16 p.m. Friday, according to police.
Purse reported stolen
A purse was reported stolen from a truck while parked at the Clark gas station at the intersection of East Front Street and South Broadway at 3:08 p.m. Saturday, according to reports.
Stolen lottery ticket cashed
A stolen lottery ticket was reported cashed in at 5:50 p.m. Saturday at Love’s truck stop, 2751 E. Main St.
