The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva wrestling team defeated United South Central 40-27, in a dual that determined the Gopher Conference champion on Saturday.

“We put together another great effort,” NRHEG head coach Paul Cyr said. “Once again, it was the wrestlers who did not give up any bonus points even though they lost.”

Dustin Burshem, Cordell Peterson, Nick Bartness and Wyatt Futterer earned falls to lead the Panthers to the win.

NRHEG finished the regular season with with an overall record of 10-7, and a section record of 4-1.

Jacob Gonsalez, Derek Herman and Colton Carlson earned falls for the Rebels.

USC finished the regular season 16-2 overall and 4-2 in its section.
