Sylvia M. Satter, age 83, of Albert Lea died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Albert Lea. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Sylvia Margaret Satter was born on July 15, 1929 in Glenville, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Vestad) Rovang. She grew up in Glenville and went to Country School. On Aug. 15, 1949 Sylvia was united in marriage to Willis D. Satter at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Sylvia worked at Wilson & Co. in the smoked meats department. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the DAV. Her hobbies included reading, visiting with friends, and bird watching, especially the pelicans on Albert Lea Lake. She dearly loved animals. Sylvia was a very loving and dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Blessed be her memory.
Survivors include her daughter Pam Carlson of Albert Lea, grandchildren Chad (Jennifer) Carlson and Ryan Carlson; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Dayne, Ayden, Isaac, and Noah; several nieces and nephews; and her “second family” Susan (Mike) VanHyfte and Sally (Nick Zrucky) Gallaher.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willis; her longtime companion Dale Gallaher; sisters Mabel, Pearl, and Gladys; and brothers Clarence, Alfred, and Palmer.
