You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for other things, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
Art shop volunteers: Have you always wanted to work in a retail environment without all the pressure? There are two openings for Art on Broadway, Albert Lea Art Center, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Volunteers will be trained; the Art Center office manager is available to assist as needed. Call the art center at 373-5665 for more information.
You can help build your bones: Stronger bones, better balance and more ease for turning your head while driving are significant this extra snowy winter. Participate in a Bone Builders group twice a week and help yourself to these life benefits. You’ll also discover good humor and new friends. Call RSVP at 377-7433 to ask for the schedule and locations.
Crime Victims Crisis Center: Newly trained volunteers are needed to work with crime victims. Help with group sessions or carry the emergency-response cell phone one or two evenings or weekends a month. Training is free, requires no previous experience and runs from mid-March to mid-May. Call 377-5464 and ask to request more details and an application form.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
