I find David Larson’s letter strange. The Democrats control the governorship, the House and the Senate. They can do what they want on education, which is a state issue, but the Republicans are to blame for their inaction? The Democrats controlled all power at the national level for the first two years of President Obama’s first-term but spent the whole time on Obamacare, so I guess education wasn’t that important to them but the blame goes to the Republicans? As to the question of plenty of money I must assume that since almost half of every dollar spent by the federal government is borrowed that Mr. Larson is saying he is for at least doubling the taxes that everybody pays now just to maintain today’s spending levels, and since he wants spending increases a doubling of taxes would be just the start.
