Northwood man hospitalized after train crash

MASON CITY — A Northwood man was under evaluation at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa Monday night after the truck he was driving collided with a train Monday afternoon.
Tanner Lampman, 24, was driving a blue 1998 Ford F-150 pickup that struck the train as it passed over the railroad intersection at 310th Street and Orchid Avenue, according to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident was reported about 1 p.m. Monday.
Lampman was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
A hospital spokesman said Monday night Lampman was still being evaluated.
Mason City Fire Paramedics assisted with the incident. The investigation into the accident is continuing.
