Holy week services at Salem Lutheran Church begin Thursday. There will be two Maunday Thursday services at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The service will include communion and the stripping of the altar. Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. Friday.
This traditional service is a continuation from the Maunday Thursday service with the reading of the passion according to St. John. There will be a procession of the cross followed by the solemn reproaches or petitions.
Guest soloist, Paul Morel, will provide special music for the service. The celebration of the risen Christ will be at 8 and 10:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
The services will include music from the brass, handchimes, organ, flute and choir. All are invited to join in this continuous journey with Christ through the suffering and resurrection.
The Rev. Mark Niethammer is the minister. Salem Lutheran is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and is located at 115 N. Washington Ave. in Albert Lea.
