MASON CITY — Union Pacific is building a new yard office near 12th Street Northwest in Mason City.

The 8,000-square-foot facility will house managers and other employees, and serve as a crew change facility, according to Raquel Espinoza, company spokesperson.

Construction started in late 2012 and should be completed by May 31.

Mason City is on the UP’s Spine Line that connects St. Paul to Kansas City. It runs through Albert Lea.
