ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Wild have signed defenseman Brett Clark to a contract for the remainder of the season.
The 36-year-old Clark has 185 points and 293 penalty minutes in 681 career NHL games with four teams, mostly with Colorado. He’d been playing in the AHL this season. Clark ranked second in the league with 199 blocked shots for Tampa Bay in 2011-12.
Forward Jason Zucker skated lightly Wednesday following a violent hit the night before from Anaheim’s Corey Perry that knocked him on his back and forced him out of the game after staying down for several minutes. Perry was suspended by the NHL for four games.
The Wild called Zucker’s condition an upper-body injury, but coach Mike Yeo said the rookie wouldn’t have been allowed on the ice if he had a concussion.
Also, goalie Darcy Kuemper was taken off injured reserve and reassigned to the AHL.
