Two Rochester men have been charged in Freeborn County District Court with selling cocaine to a Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputy earlier this month.
Bashir Abdullahi Farah, 30, and Ukash Ali Abdulle, 25, each face one charge of second-degree sale of cocaine for a reported sale of 5.5 grams of the drug on April 12.
Court records state the sale allegedly took place in the undercover deputy’s vehicle in the parking lot of the Knights Inn in Albert Lea. The drug sold for $1,000.
Other members of the South Central Drug Task Force pulled the men over in their vehicle shortly after the sale and arrested them.
Reports state most of the the money from the sale was found strewn around the vehicle, and some of the money was later found on the floor of the squad car that Abdulle was transported in. All but $80 was recovered.
Both men are being held in the Freeborn County jail on a $30,000 bail.
They are next scheduled to appear in court on May 13.
