A.L. vehicles may be tied to Austin chase

A pickup was reportedly stolen from 217 E. Third St. and used in a police chase in Austin. More details about the chase are pending.

Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Darren Hanson said local police did not know the truck had been missing until they received a call from Austin police at 4:25 a.m. today.

In addition, Albert Lea police found an abandoned 1996 Oldsmobile Bravada with a broken windshield and windows in Albert Lea at 1:19 a.m. today near the intersection of East Main Street and Morningside Road. The car was later found to be from Austin.

Hanson said there is a possibility that this vehicle was connected to a stolen pickup discovered in Austin this morning.

The truck hit a house at Fifth Avenue and Seventh Street SW in Austin, according to Austin police.
