Alice Thompson

Alice was born on May 15, 1925, to Arthur and Evelyn Anfinson in Freeborn County. She attended school in Albert Lea. On Jan. 1, 1944, she was married to Adrian M. Thompson in Albert Lea. They made their home in Albert Lea, Ellendale and Brownsdale. She was always a very hard working wife and mother, helping Ade with farm work and also working at various jobs throughout their married life. She enjoyed playing card games with friends and family, snowmobiling, dancing, watching the Twins and Vikings and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were all so special to her and she doted on each one of them, loved following their sports and other activities and was so proud of their accomplishments. The last two years she lived at Thorne Crest Retirement Community where she was gently and lovingly cared for by the staff. The family is so grateful to the staff for their many kindnesses and friendship they have shown to Alice and her family.

Alice is survived by her sons, Roger (Bev) Thompson of Owatonna and Gary (Ginny) Thompson of Albert Lea. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeff Thompson of Minneapolis, Michelle (Brad) Romer of Albert Lea, Christine (Darren) Hanson of Ellendale, Kari (Tom) Larson of Hutchinson and Jill (Jim) Johnson of Albert Lea. There are 11 great-grandchildren surviving, all who loved her so much. They are Kennedy Thompson of Austin, Brandon Antl of Duluth, Zach, Alex and McKenzie Romer, Dillon, Jarred and Kaylee Hanson, Jake and Ellie Larson and Luke Johnson. She left a very special place in all of their hearts, and taught them by example to work hard, be humble and to love each other and the family will miss her so much. She is also survived by her sister, Irene (John) VanRiper; sisters-in-law, Sue (Dan) of Hudson and Joan (Elmer) Vandenhuevel; and nieces and nephews.
