The Albert Lea boys’ tennis team fell 6-1 at home against Owatonna Tuesday.

The Tigers lost their first three singles matches, but Cole Keyeski earned a win for Albert Lea at the No. 4 spot.

“Keyeski really improved his game from our first match,” Tigers’ head coach Tom Dyrdal said.

Darik Weigel’s match at No. 3 singles lasted 2 and a half hours.

“Although he wasn’t able to pull out the victory, I was pleased with his effort and progress,” Dyrdal said.

Albert Lea has a 1-1 overall record, and four matches have been postponed this year.

“For the limited practice time we’ve had, we actually played well,” Dyrdal said. “It’s still early in the season, but I’m pleased with where we are at this point.”
