Millie was born on Oct. 20, 1922, in Walters to parents Millie and Fred Fulton. Millie was a graduate of Alden High School in 1942 and was active in many singing activities while in school. Millie was baptized on May 27, 1923, and confirmed on May 16, 1937, at the Alden Methodist Episcopal Church in Alden. She was united in marriage to Arthur C. Boyer on June 2, 1942, at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Six children were born to Art and Millie. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea.

Millie moved to Long Beach, Calif., after marrying Art where he worked in the shipyards there on World War II ships. They returned to the Alden area and later to a turkey farm north of Albert Lea where they lived until 1951. Millie worked at Northside Drug in the Sibley shop and Gibson’s (changed to Pamida) until her retirement.

Millie bowled in a league where she helped her team win the championship trophy and enjoyed the company of her teammates. Millie loved having coffee with “the Pamida girls” once a month and her friends and daughter every morning at Hardee’s. At her home, she was known as the “Cookie Lady” where she gave out homemade cookies and freeze pops to the children as they got off of the schoolbus. She did this for many years. Millie was a member of the Moose Club and the Eagles where she enjoyed dancing to the Blue Banners and other groups. She was also very active at the Albert Lea Senior Center where she served as treasurer until her illness. Millie camped, boated and fished with family and friends whenever she could. Millie shared her wonderful smile with all who knew her. Millie and Arthur were divorced but remained best friends until his death on April 22, 2003.

Millie lived at the Good Samaritan Society for seven years and had a family visitor every day but two days while she lived there. She was never left alone.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Good Samaritan Society for their care and kindness during her seven years there. They also want to thank all of the friends and relatives who sent cards and visited Millie while she lived at the home.
