Funeral services for Patricia L. Nelson, age 77, of Albert Lea, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hayward Lutheran Church. The Rev. Katie Fick will officiate. Interment will be in the Hayward Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Patricia died on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

Patricia L. Nelson was born on June 27, 1935, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur D. and Helen B. (Wicks) Jean. Pat moved with her family from Iowa to the Hayward area as a young girl in 1949. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1953. On Oct.30, 1954, Pat was united in marriage to Thomas L. Nelson at the Hayward Lutheran Church. Pat enjoyed sewing, babysitting her grandkids and vacations with her family. She particularly loved family get-togethers. Blessed be her memory.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; children, Julie (Mike) Bustad of Austin, Jeff Nelson of Albert Lea, Jill (Cody) Knaack of Glenville and Jay (Angelique) Nelson of Hayward; grandchildren, Jessica (Kyle) Arndt, Jenalee (Jeff) Karlen, Wyatt Madson, Richard Knaack, Trevor Rasmussen, Madison Nelson, Isabella Nelson, C.J. Ruby and Hunter Nelson; great-granddaughter Chaslin Arndt; brother, Warren “Red” Jean; sister, Jeanette Hansen; sister-in-law, Faith Kirsch; brother-in-law, Paul Levine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; sister, Lenore Bauldry; and sisters- and brothers-in law, H.C. and Faye Nelson, Dora Levine, Kate Lorentzen and Margarite Nelson.
