Concerning the state law that is an issue in Lansing, are we being assessed illegal assessments here as well? Many of these street assessments are more than any increase in value to the property; in fact, I don’t think they add any value to the property. I never did think the way the city pays for street repair was fair to the property owner. Major repairs cost thousands of dollars, with no increase in value to the property,whether you can afford to pay it or not, while the whole town is using the street at your expense.
