The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
Freeborn County Bike-A-Thon: The 41st annual Bike-A-Thon starts at 6 a.m. May 4 at the Sibley Elementary School warming house. Registration nights are 5 to 7 p.m. May 2 and 3 at Skyline Plaza. Call LeAnn Juveland 402-6960 to help with the registrations or Pat Stumme at 377-7433 for a two-hour shift to help welcome the riders returning to the warming house.
Spring book readers: You did it! All spots are filled for Monday through Friday in the United Way of Freeborn County’s spring readers project. Many thanks to every adult reader who has volunteered.
Bowl-A-Thon for The Arc: It’s free bowling and prizes for you from 1 to 3 p.m. April 27 when you bring in $25 to $45 in pledges for The Arc of Freeborn County. Or you can help Jo Lowe and crew with the event. Call her at 377-3469 for more information and to register.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
