MINNEAPOLIS — The federal government has charged a convicted con artist with escape for walking away from a minimum-security prison camp in Duluth.
Sixty-seven-year-old Gerald Greenfield was charged Tuesday with one count of escape from custody.
Greenfield was apprehended after six days on the run with another convicted con artist who left the camp, 64-year-old Michael Krzyzaniak of Minneapolis.
The two were discovered missing from the prison camp on March 30. The pair was arrested April 5 at a Burnsville motel after investigators got a tip.
Krzyzaniak recently was indicted on one count of escape from custody.
