‘Happy Days’ auditions begin Wednesday at theater in A.L.

The Albert Lea Community Theatre has announced auditions for “Happy Days” from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.
Ten performances of the musical based on the television series starring Albert Lea native, Marion Ross, are scheduled for July 10-20. Ross will return to Albert Lea as an honored guest during the production.
There are 17 roles to cast in the show including 14 energetic teenagers who enjoy singing and dancing. Popular characters in the musical include The Fonz, Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham, Richie Cunningham, Ralph Malph, Potsie, Chachi, Joanie and others. James Dean and Elvis Presley also make cameo appearances.
Director Steve Kinney said auditions are open only to those age 14 and older. Those auditioning should be prepared to sing, learn a simple dance routine and read from the script. Rehearsals will be scheduled weeknights with some weekend involvement closer to the performance dates.
