Howard Jensen, 89, Albert Lea

Howard Amos Jensen died on Thursday, May 2, 2013. He was born on Nov. 11, 1923, at home in Ellendale to Anges and Henry Jensen. He attended Ellendale school and was in the Army Corp. from 1945 to 1946.
Howard was a brick, block and tile layer and in his retirement worked for Hugh O’Byrne and Greg Jensen auctioneers.
He was married to Mari Anne Josephine Skogebo from 1953 to 1968. She had two children that Howard adopted, a son, Ronald Carey, and a daughter, Nancy June. They had two daughters Rebecca Diane and Suzanne Kristen.
Howard was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Cory Jensen; daughters, Rebecca Diane Evan and Suzane Kristen Dotson; sister, LaVonne Marjorie Swearingen; brother-in-law, Ken Lunning; and parents, Agnes and Henry Jensen.
He is survived by daughter, Nancy June Nicholas and husband Donald (Nick) of Colorado; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ardelle Haberman of Indianapolis, Ind., Lorraine Lunning of Oshkosh, Wis.; brother-in-law, Robert Swearingen of Ellendale; and many nieces and nephews.
Howard donated his body to Mayo Clinic Health System for research.
