The 13AAA Albert Lea Knights baseball team began the season by earning second place at the Mason City Hardee’s Classic tournament April 27 and 28. The Knights won their pool play games 17-1 against the Newman Cardinals and 20-1 against Rampage. In bracket play, the Knights earned a slot in the championship game with a 4-0 win over the River City Rebels. The North Iowa Blazers won the championship game 2-1 over the Knights. The Knights will play the Austin All-Stars in a doubleheader on Saturday before hostingthe Albert Lea Knights Slugfest May 17 to 19 at Snyder Field.
