Susan Joyce, a local author, is the scheduled speaker for the Dorothy Godtland Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Albert Lea Art Center. Joyce will share information about the world of writing, changes within the publishing industry and her journey as a writer. Her lecture is free and open to the public.
Joyce is a native of St. Paul. She is a former commercial artist, journalist, editor and award-winning publisher, as well as an award-wining financial adviser. She has lived in northern Minnesota, southern Minnesota and places in-between for 40 years before she and her husband moved to Albert Lea to retire in 2010. She is currently working on her first novel for publication, a story that encompasses her experience on Wall Street, but is set in Minnesota.
The Dorothy Godtland Lecture Series is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Additional information on the lecture series and other upcoming events may be found at www.thealbertleaartcenter.org. The Albert Lea Art Center is located at 224 S. Broadway in Albert Lea.
