Lorraine Meyer, 75, New Richland

Funeral services for Lorraine E. Meyer of New Richland will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Congregational Church in New Richland. The Rev. Pamela Jensen will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland. Interment will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in New Richland.

Lorraine Meyer

Lorraine was born Dec. 14, 1937, in Albert Lea, the daughter of John and Elsie (Boettger) Dusza. She was a graduate of New Richland High School. On Feb. 23, 1957, she was united in marriage to Robert Meyer at the First Congregational Church in New Richland. Lorraine was a New Richland resident all of her life. She had been employed by Land-O-Lakes, Hudson Foods and retired from Schweigert Foods as a switchboard receptionist. Before her marriage she had worked as a waitress in New Richland and at Wilson & Co. in Albert Lea.

Lorraine was a very active member of the First Congregational Church teaching Sunday school and involved in the Women’s Fellowship. She enjoyed volunteering her time with the New Richland Food Shelf, Daffodil Days with the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life and the United Fund Board. Lorraine loved to be with friends and family, helping others and working in her flower garden.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Robert, of New Richland; children, Randy (Gail) Meyer of Edina, Kris (Loren) Schlaak of New Richland, Mike (Barbel) Meyer of New Richland, Steven (Tanya) Meyer of Wells and Traci (Chris) Prindle of Rochester; and grandchildren, Jeff Saude, Michelle Meyer, Tre Meyer, Kelsey Meyer, Destinee Meyer, Shyann Meyer, Jesse Meyer, Wyatt Meyer, Alex Prindle and Kyle Prindle. There is one great-granddaughter, Aria Meyer. Also surviving is one uncle, Charlie Boettger, of Kasson; brother-in-law, Don Bartness, of New Richland; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Meyer of New Richland, LaVonne Meyer of New Richland, Jean Bartness of Florida and Mary Thorson of Medford.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Dusza.
