No matter what the weather is like on May 11, it’s going to be a bright and sun-shiny day at Calvary Baptist Church! That’s the theme for a Gal’s Luncheon that will be held at noon at the church. Focus verse is Psalm 118:24: “This is the day the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Guest speaker for the afternoon is Chris Johnson who will be sharing her memories. Her message will be about what God has been teaching her through her memories and his desires for her through them.
Chris will share her memories of when she and her husband, David, lived in Albert Lea from 1981 until 1993. David was the associate pastor at Calvary Baptist Church and Chris was the choir director. During those years Chris taught piano lessons and vocal music at Emmons Public School and Alden-Conger Public School.
In 1993 David and Chris moved to the Minnesota town of Storden where David continues as the pastor at Storden Baptist Church, and Chris teaches vocal music at Mountain Lake Public School. They have two grown sons.
Gals of all ages are invited to come to Calvary Baptist Church at 2016 Bridge Ave. for a time of food, fun, fellowship and to hear an inspiring message. Door prizes will be given away. Call 874-3754 for more information or about tickets.
