A 55-year-old Minnesota Lake man received minor injuries Wednesday night after a broadside crash near the Interstate 35 ramp to Freeborn County Road 46.
Kenneth J. Klein, 55, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Reports state David A. Smith, 27, of Bloomington was driving southbound on Interstate 35 in a 2006 Peterbuilt truck when he took the exit to Freeborn County Road 46 and then slid through the stop sign at the bottom of the ramp.
A second vehicle, a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, was reportedly driving westbound on County 46 and reportedly struck the semi as it slid through the stop sign.
The State Patrol identified Shelly R. Kittinger, 39, of Eau Claire, Wis., as the driver of the Pontiac and Klein as her passenger.
Smith and Kittinger received no apparent injury.
The crash took place at 9:34 a.m.
All three people were wearing their seat belts, and the road was icy, according to reports.
