Mayo Clinic Health System awarded four $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in its service area interested in pursuing an education in health care.

The scholarships encourage students and gives them the opportunity to achieve their goals. One June Wells Scholarship was awarded to a student pursuing an education in communications.

Health care scholarship recipients are Alexandra Wood of United South Central High School and Alexandria Jahnke, Corbin Schultz and Christina Monson of Albert Lea High School. Taylor Jensen of Albert Lea High School was chosen as the recipient of the June Wells Scholarship.

Scholarships were awarded primarily on the basis of leadership, commitment, character and academic ability.
