The Albert Lea girls’ golf team was one place away from qualifying for Day 2 of the Section 1AAA tournament Thursday at Cannon Falls Golf Course.

The Tigers finished with a total score of 398.

Albert Lea girls’ golf head coach Shawn Riebe said Megan Pulley, Chelsey Battle, Mady Dahl and Sam Nielsen will moved to the second round individually.

Makenna Friehl and Cammy Tewes also competed for Albert Lea on Day 1.

The second round will be Monday at the same venue.

“Megan is positioned to make a run for the state tournament if she has a good round on Monday,” Riebe said. “She’ll have to shoot in the low 80s to get to state. She is very capable of doing so.”
