A variety show will take place at 7 p.m. May 11 at the Bolan Schoolhouse in Kensett, Iowa, in the restored Barton No. 2 schoolhouse building.
The community of Bolan has a population of 21 and an active United Methodist Church.
Historical records show the Worth County Barton Township school building will be 90 years old this year.
An area-wide chorus has been rehearsing under the direction of Merlin Bartz with accompanists Margaret Krumm, Mary Wendt and Ryan Hulshizer. They are preparing to share sing-along school songs, oldies, spiritual favorites and patriotic selections.
Children and teens from the St. Ansgar, Northwood-Kensett and Central Springs school districts will be performing vocal, instrumental, dance and speech performances. Refreshments will follow the show.
Tickets may be held by calling Lori Willert at 641-903-9472 or Linda Nydegger at 641-748-2385.
