Albert Lea softball players honored at end-of-season banquet

The Albert Lea softball team held its awards banquet Tuesday in the high school auditorium. From left are Taylor Thompson, Megan Kortan and Haley Harms. The trio earned honorable mention All-Conference. Kortan led the team with a .391 batting average, while Thompson was second (.359) and Harms was third (.338). — Submitted

Albert Lea senior catcher Dominique Villarreal earned Big Nine All-Conference recognition. On defense Villarreal played catcher, and on offense she led the Tigers with nine doubles. Her batting average (.322) was fourth on the team. — Submitted

Albert Lea pitcher Haley Harms was an All-Section (1AAA) selection. Harms pitched 19 games with a record of 7-12. She struck out 54 batters and walked 47. Her earned run average for the season was 4.72. Offensively, Harms batted .338 and scored a team-high 15 runs. — Submitted
