U.S. Highway 69 will close from Minnesota Highway 13 to the Iowa border beginning July 8 as crews begin a resurfacing and culvert replacement project.

Motorists will be detoured to Freeborn County Road 46, Freeborn County Road 14, Freeborn County Road 17 and Freeborn County Road 14.

The detour is necessary while crews replace culverts and will remain in place for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

Once the detour is lifted, flaggers will control traffic throughout the remainder of project, which is scheduled to continue through late August.

Ulland Brothers Inc. is the prime contractor for the $4.6 million project.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
